Who we are

Fenchurch Associates is a recruitment agency for permanent and contract resources within the Insurance Industry. Insurance and Analytics recruitment is our core business and we’re proud to say, our customers believe we’re good at it. Fenchurch Associates has actively chosen to focus on Insurance and Analytical jobs, we’ve immersed ourselves in this market and are now an integral part of this business community.

The motivation was to start a recruitment business avoiding all the pitfalls we have experienced ourselves as recruiting managers, as candidates and as recruitment consultants. Flexibility and transparency were high on our list but there were also many other aspects we wanted to improve.

Ashley Beatens

Founder and Director

Ashley is the founding Director of Fenchurch Associates. With over 10 years’ recruitment experience in both permanent and contract GI Actuarial markets, Ashley is responsible for Business Development, Client Relationships and for leading the growth and diversification of the business. Ashley is a proven headhunter with a history of placing hundreds of professionals through his career with market leading Insurers, Reinsurers, Consultancies and Brokers. Having worked with leading figures in the market, Ashley has an extensive network and provides a service that is flexible and agile to support the needs of his clients and candidates.

Catalin-Leonard Popa

International Director

Catalin-Leonard is a motivated and genuine recruitment professional with a can-do attitude and an enthusiastic personality. He has over 7 years’ experience in actuarial recruitment. Catalin-Leonard joins Fenchurch Associates to start and develop the European division and help expand the business into new markets.

He enjoys working with people from different backgrounds and help candidates grow and develop their careers. Over the years he has built long-term relationships with candidates and world’s leading (Re)Insurance companies and consultancies and he has successfully placed life and non-life actuaries across Europe from junior actuaries to managers and head of departments. Known for his integrity, determination and discretion, Catalin-Leonard is always keen to provide impartial advice on recruitment solutions or advise candidates about their career choices.

When he travels, he enjoys meting with locals and trying new food, including local delicacies such as insects, ceviche, moqueca or cha ca.  He is a keen follower of football and athletics and he is also a FA Level I Football Coach, managing a U13s team for a local club.
